NEGATIVE KARMA WILL BE ELIMINATED WHEN THE MIND AND BODHISATTVA CONNECTS DURING RECITATION

Caller:

In Buddhism in Plain Terms, you mentioned “recitation can eliminate negative karma”. Hence, in the process of recitations and elimination of negative karma, how do we converge the compassionate vows embodied in the Mantra and the state of our actions, speeches and thoughts from recitations, so that they could operate in togetherness to achieve the goal of enlightening sentient beings in addition to that of eliminating negative karma?  Please advise us, Master Lu.

Master Jun Hong Lu:

It is through “unification of our mind with that of Buddha”.  When your thoughts are preoccupied with Buddha, Buddha will be in your heart.  When your life is guided by the cognitive thoughts of Buddha, it is known as “unification of mind with that of Buddha”.  As long as you are able to unify your heart with Buddha, you would have attained the unification.
