Master Jun Hong Lu is honoured with the “World Peace Award (Buddhism)”
and the “British Community Honours Award”
On 8th July 2012, the founder of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, Master Jun Hong Lu, was invited to the “Unity of Faiths Festival” in London by the organising committee in recognition of his contributions to the propagation of humanity, traditional Chinese culture, and Buddhism over the past few decades. This was one of the events in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, supported by the British Royal Family. Master Lu has helped millions of people around the world to overcome difficulties and to change their lives through practising Buddhism. He was honoured with the “World Peace Award (Buddhism)” and the title of “Ambassador for World Peace” of the year. The award was presented by the Deputy Mayor of London and members of parliament. On the day of the event, religious leaders from many countries gathered in celebration of peace. The “World Peace Award (Buddhism)” is the only major award at this event. Guan Yin Citta is truly recognised by religious communities around the world.
On 1st October 2012, Master Jun Hong Lu was honoured with the “British Community Honours Award” at the House of Lords, United Kingdom, shortly after he gave his public talk at Harvard University. This award was presented by members of the British Royal Family.
The “World Peace Award (Buddhism)” and the “British Community Honours Award” represent high recognition for Master Jun Hong Lu’s efforts in helping people and propagating traditional Chinese culture for many years. This is another major milestone for Guan Yin Citta going onto the international stage after the “People’s Daily” newspaper published an article on Guan Yin Citta.
Master Jun Hong Lu promotes world peace and loves his country of origin. For the past few decades, he has been dedicating himself in helping people and propagating traditional Chinese culture. Master Jun Hong Lu has been travelling to over 20 countries and regions for his world tour in the past three years. Recently, Master Jun Hong Lu gave a public talk at Harvard University on the topic of “Compassion and Wisdom – Buddhism Changes Life”. He has moved many people through his exemplification of Buddhist practice, and has also made a global impact through his Buddhist teachings. Guan Yin Citta has been reported widely by major media agencies, and has received recognition from Government bodies and academics around the world. The ideals and essence of traditional Chinese culture are now being widely accepted and appreciated.
According to an unofficial survey, Guan Yin Citta now has over 5 million followers from both Chinese and western backgrounds. The awards accepted by Master Jun Hong Lu represented a well-deserved recognition anticipated by many. Guan Yin Citta is now blossoming onto the international stage, presenting a great honour to Master Jun Hong Lu’s country of origin. Master Jun Hong Lu will continue to devote his life to promote Chinese culture, to strengthen the harmony of society, and to support the development of humanity and world peace.
